Max Kreifeldt

Max is a senior research assistant in the Contet Lab at TSRI.  He runs an array of mouse behavior experiments focusing on alcohol dependence. He is responsible for the lab’s ethanol vapor administration and even sometimes puts his self-taught engineering skills to work to troubleshoot and modify the equipment.

He said that he enjoys “seeing data generated in ‘real time’ with behavior studies. Modeling complex human conditions in mice requires an open yet skeptical mind… We sort of walk a tightrope knowing not to excessively ‘anthropomorphize’ mice while at the same time gleaning aspects of their behaviors that are useful and relevant to understanding those same conditions in humans.”

Max is quite a “jack of all trades”.  His hobbies include playing classical and electric guitar, aquascaping, kayaking, cooking, gardening, and many more!
